he's 12 days old today. couple of days ago, starting at teatime, he ramped up the feeding. I've gone with it and expected that night to be pretty busy for me feeding wise. It was, but DS was taking a good feed and settling to sleep inbetween. I was sleep deprived but did manage to cat nap.
Yesterday he was quite sleepy, fed less and i put it down to the busy night. He had a mammoth, both boobs, feed at about 4pm yesterday. HV happened to be here and said his latch was lovely, he was obviously feeding well.
Last night was awful. He would only settle if he was held. We're co-sleeping with a side-car cot, but he just howled every time i try to put him down. He has been on and off the boob all night, not really feeding.....he keeps getting hiccoughs......and I think he might have a cold as he's sneezing too.
I feel done in this morning. DH had DS for a while so I could sleep but he's just rooting and crying for boob so much. I offer it to him and more often than not he does a lot of head shaking, takes the nipple and just lies there - not feeding.
The constant nursing, in essence I'm fine with but I do have a 7 year old to look after too. I would wear a sling to solve the 'clingy' aspect but I can't because he has a cast on his leg for talipes.
He's wide awake right now, and 'talkative'......
We've gone from 2-3 hourly on demand feeds, lasting about 20 mins and obviously feeding well to on/off/on/off and not feeding efficiently.
I really want this to work having failed to establish bf with DS1, but I'm so tired.....
