Sudden weaning or nursing strike?

My son is 17.5 months and for the first time ever just refused boob. We're down to twice a day and have been for a couple of months. This evening he bit me twicehard bites, as in "no"and I asked if he wanted to cuddle instead of milk, and he said "yes". So we cuddled for five minutes, then I put him in his crib and he fell fast asleep.

I was thinking of weaning in a couple of months, but I'm a bit sad if this is how it ends. I guess I'll offer at the usual time tomorrow morning.

Meantime, do I need to pump an ounce? If it is sudden weaning, what the hell do I do? Compresses? Pump a little each day and gradually reduce the amount?

My ds was on bottle and he just decided one day that he wasnt having any more milk i tryed him for a few days after his first rejection but he had decided himself to come off milk and he was only around 14 month im sorry im no help on breast but this should help you not to worry about dc xx

Sounds like a strike, has anything happened to upset him when nursing?

Have you got your period? Is he teething or been I'll recently?

If you get uncomfortable it will help to pump and to maintain supply, but it was just one feed, he may feed fine in the morning :)

Try not to be nervous/tense when you offer.

Was he distracted or anything unusual going on/change to routine that put him off?
