I've been to the doctors TWICE with my daughter and oral thrush
I'm breastfeeding and the thrush just keeps getting passed between us despite using the oral thrush drops and cream! It's SO annoying!!
Wondering if anyone else has experienced thrush from breastfeeding?

ALot- yes, there was a thread on here recently, however the herbal remedy mentioned was grapefruit seed extract - not the same thing. OP, it is worth checking out www.kellymom.com and thebreastfeedingnetwork.org.uk for some good info on thrush treatment if you haven't already done so.

Have a look at the breastfeeding network's thrush leaflet. You might need a long course of fluconazole. I had the nystatin cream and drops but they didn't get rid of it. I found the doctors unwilling to prescribe anything else but they did when I took along this leaflet. Annoyingly, I think it's quite expensive. You'd think they would be willing to prescribe it help somebody to keep breastfeeding, but no......

The drops aren't very effective - there is a fab thrush leaflet on the Breastfeeding Network site - Daktarin Oral Gel is much better for babies mouths combined with Daktarin cream for you. There is a tear off section on the leaflet for you to hand to your GP to help them prescribe you the right thing ;-)
