BOOK OF THE MONTH - vote for November's choice here

(8 Posts)
We have our winner: MRS TIM OF THE REGIMENT has squeezed ahead, beating HENRIETTA'S WAR by just one vote..

We'll get together to chat about MRS TIM OF THE REGIMENT on Monday 7 December, 8-9.30pm.

JoeyBettany, lovely to have you. For all new bookclubbers, here's how it works...
Can I join too? One of the books, I think 'Henrietta's War' sounds very similar to 'A Diary of a Provincial Lady by E M Delafield' . It would be interesting to know if one was influenced by the other.
Couldn't agree more. I spent 10 years in publishing reading for work. The novelty of reading for pure pleasure is a joy to me. Very happy to have you and hope you enjoy bookclub.

We have a new front runner: MR TIM OF THE REGIMENT has pulled into the lead, 2 votes ahead of HENRIETTA'S WAR. Final result will be announced tomorrow morning...

I'd like to take part too. I am only just getting back into reading for pleasure, DS is 2! Though I have spent a year studying. It's lovely to choose books to just read them rather than pick out the bits I need for an assignment
Roopoo, you're totally welcome to join.

We'll announce the winning book on this thread tomorrow morning, and then once you've got your hands on a copy, you've got until Monday 7 December, 8-9.30pm, to read as much as you can. Don't worry if you haven't finished: we often have discussions where lots of us are at different stages in the book.

And to just to remind everyone: today is the last chance to vote - the poll will close at midnight tonight. So if you haven't picked a favourite yet, nows your chance...

Just wanted to check that I would be ok to join in the bookclub x
I love reading but never seem to get round to it since having DD so would love to start again... Thanks x
HENRIETTA'S WAR currently in the lead by just one vote - poll closes tomorrow at midnight and the winner will be announced on Wednesday morning...
This month, please welcome the Bloomsbury Group. Not the love-triangled, eccentric gang of arty pacifists but a wonderful new series of once-lost but now-rediscovered novels from the early 20th century.

Get ready to immerse yourself in a lost world of thwarted romance, madcap fancy and characters called Hyacinth and Hester.

You can find out more about the books here and then vote for your choice.

The vote poll closes on Tuesday 10 November at midnight.

And if you're new to Book Club, find out how to join in.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
