I'm bleeding 12 days into my cycle - could it be ovulation?

I'm trying to get pregnant and had a miscarriage 3 months ago very early at 5.5 weeks. I had a normal period of 26 days last month and last night felt my normal ovulation pain which would fit with a 26 day cycle. This morning I am bleeding lightly and have had period pain type cramps all day and light spotting. Is it possible this is either an ovulation bleed (have never had before) or could it be an implantation bleed or something more sinister? Is there anyone out there who has experienced this? Help stop me feeling miserable

I have not - seems that it could be implantation bleed but don't want to rasie your hopes up!

Sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage. Did you have an ERPC (womb scrape) afterwards? The spotting that you've been having, is it fresh blood (bright red) or old (brown)?

Gemg - also, try reposting this over on 'conception'. You'll get lots of good advice/information over there.

Didn't have a scrape. Had a very heavy period followed by a less heavy one and then normal seeming one last month. Blood was red this morning but has been pale pink/brown the rest of the day.

I have had ovulation bleeds although it was only a tiny amount of blood, much less than you are describing. It was pinkish brown. Good luck with the TTC.

The fact that you had a heavy bleed following the MC followed by at least one 'normal' period would suggest that there's no residual tissue/old clots remaining. I agree with pupuce, seems that it could be an implantation bleed. IMO, and this is just MO -I doubt it's anything sinister, I'm assuming your smears are up to date? Usual advice, if you're concerned, check with GP who can arrange for a scan to check for old clots etc. HTH

Had a smear which was clear in September. Is it possible to get this achey feeling with an implantation bleed?

The achiness sounds more like an ovulation/mid cycle thing - but if you haven't experienced it before I'm not sure why you are this month. I have been aware of ovulation myself in the past to the extent that I can feel which side I'm ovulating from. I think when TTC we become so 'tuned in' to any feelings that it becomes difficult to distinguish between them. The bleed sounds like implantation to me but the achiness doesn't. Confused!? If you haven't already, post on 'conception'. You will find someone who may have experienced inplantation achiness. You may just have to sit this one out Gemg - endure the dreaded 2 week wait and test around day 26.

I bleed around 15th day of my cycle after ovulating every month whether trying to conceive or not. Its the same time that the egg would be dropping out of me. I always presume its the something to do with the hormones at this time. At the moment I am ttc and this month I have had unusually no spotting, so maybe that's a positive sign......
