She is young (early 30s) and has 2 small children. I dont know her well but I am so devastated I cant stop thinking about her. How terrible.

That's so sad
poor family.
I hope she has a lot of support. Was it sudden?
Thanks. I actually dont know any details at all at this stage. i had no idea her DH was ill if he was so i am assuming it was sudden. but i am realising you have no idea at all what is going on in someone's world unless they choose to tell you.

Hi. Unless this is a massive coincidence I think you probably work in the same place as my dh. He is also very upset as he worked with your colleague for many years. A very, very distressing time, I can't imagine how she is coping or even finding the strength to get up in the morning. I know we have been thinking about her all week
Wow. Thanks for that Jasper. It is very distressing indeed, made worse for us not knowing much about circumstances or anything. i know she left work early on tues and didnt make it home in time. it is encouraging to know there are other mn'ers (sort of) who work there. it is an amazing place to work and i know she will be taken care of - that helps.

Yes, they are good about looking after their employees. I guess the old fashioned work environment has it's moments. When dh's father was gravelly ill a few years ago they were fantastic, I am sure they will do all they can to support her.
