Tip of the day

Never ask a child IF they need the loo... moodlum

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

What about welsh names? We have a Rhidian and haven't yet come across another one of either spelling (Rhidian/Rhydian) despite living in Wales. My friend's son is called Caelan, which I think is gorgeous and would probably have used myself if she'd not got in first!

Gosh awful typos sorry!. Pavel and Tariq seem a little comical to me I'm afraid.
see malachy always reminds me of malady...i.e. desease...

how about Mirko, Soren, Luther, Ricardo, Tariq, Pavel

I do like Jasper it was top of the list but I just don't seem to be able to fall in love with any boys names.

I think it's because secretly I would like another DD!.

I can't beleive you brought up Malachy, it's my favourtie name in the world and the noly one I truely love but DH really dislikes it and I don't seem to be able to twist his arm at all and beleive me I've tried I've sent him messages with it in, made it his screen saver and played the horrific delivry card to no avail!

I love Angus and Stanley but we know a Stanley already, Anugs is so adorable but DH has just vetoed as we have said no Scottish names as I wouldn't have Hamish!
my sons are called Sven, Yannic and Flynn, all unusual but not made up...

saying that I regrett spelling Yannic without a k at the end....i.e. Yannick...would have been better...hindsight and all that..

We called our son Ramsey, as a compromise on RAMASES!

Five other children were registered with Ramsey last year.

Find a word you really like, or a greek god that you respect, and go from there

My sons middle name is Eilob - a mixture of Eileen and Bob!
Xavier is a fave of mine.
ok, well this is what I can remember of my lists for my 3 boys:

Otto
Tristan
Nico
Asa
Linus
Lars
Lucien
Soren
Anders
Torsten
Caius
Gregor
Robin
Fabian
Tobias
Gabriel
Ivan
Zachary

Arlo

Oakley

We are trying to come up with a boys name. It is impossible, I have enough girls names for 8 children but none that I love for a boy.

If DD had been a boy she'd have been a Noah Finlay. It is now to common for us.

DH likes Nelson and Jasper and I do but I don't love them like I did my daughters name or any of my chosen girls names!.

We are looking for something that is unusual, cool and cute but not made up like Storm.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
