Just been watching the Birthday slot on CBeebies and there was a card for Scrumpy!

Surely its a nickname, because its awful as a name!

Was Scrumpy definitely not a dog?

Frasersmum123 · 22/06/2009 10:30

Nope - the card had Scrumpy in big glittery letters and a picture of the smiley lad in question.

Haha that's brilliant!

Ooh on milkshake this morning there was a card for an Isabellie Lorna Kelly!

Oh and for an Angel from big sis Paris and big bro Romeo!

Shock
coppertop · 22/06/2009 11:28

It's probably a nickname for Scrumptious.

sleepsforwimps · 22/06/2009 12:44

Maybe it's short for Scrumpy-Jack?

MadreInglese · 22/06/2009 12:45

maybe his name is Jack?

HecatesTwopenceworth · 22/06/2009 12:46

It must be a nickname, surely?

Niecie · 22/06/2009 12:47

Maybe rather than naming the child after the place he was conceived, he was named after the 'influences' at work whilst he was being conceived.

I should imagine, if the idea took off, there would be a fair few Merlots, Guinnesses or Horlicks (maybe not) around in due course.

thumbwitch · 22/06/2009 12:52

Oh and there was I about to suggest Merrydown if we're going for cider names.

lol niecie - probably!

Niecie · 22/06/2009 12:58

I quite like the name Merrydown.

Frasersmum123 · 22/06/2009 13:04

But if it was a nickname would you put it on a card? No-one else will know who it is?

Its an awful name, and if it is his real name I hope he has a sensible middle name - poor lad!

bumptwitknocker · 22/06/2009 14:26

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 22/06/2009 14:34

We had a cat called that once, but a child? er, no.

thell · 23/06/2009 13:41

PMSL at the glittery letters and straight faces of the presenters

A friend made that joke once Frasersmum- I was teasing him about his growing tum and asked him the name of his baby - he said 'Stella'

cory · 23/06/2009 20:43
