I wouldnt have dexter myself, it just makes me think of dexters labratory, or dexter the serial killer (wasnt it a program on tv or something?) but if you like it, thats the main thing.

I like it. It's snappy and strong, and the nickname Dex is nice, too.

Was there a serial killer named Dexter? I've never heard of him!

I quite like it, it's a bit off the wall for me but I think it's a nice name. I don't think everyone will immediately think of the serial killer TV show and anyway it's popular now but in 5 or 10 years time it will probably be forgotten. Congrats btw. I think it's lovely to have your dad's name as a middle name.

I instantly thought serial killer too.

Also remember watching Dynasty in the 80s and wasn't the character married to Joan Collins called "Dex Dexter".

For me "Dexter Bruce" sounds like it should belong to an action hero - its very macho sounding.

Someone might think "serial killer " now but Dexter is hardly a TV show to be remembered forever. Lets face it, it's going to get cancelled in a year or two and no-one will remember it in 5 years time. I wouldn't let that stop you, after all, there are connotations like that for most names.

I like it.

The name has been around for a while, its my brother's name and he is 50. I like it as its quite unusual and we all have unusual names in our family. Its nice to be! different
