Rory with an Irish surname - is it too much?!

I can't cope, I can't think of one single boy's name that I really, really love. I do quite like Rory but unfortunately I have THE Irish surname - would it be too much, would I be condemning the poor boy to stereotyping his whole life?

Better than Paddy . I love the name Rory so I say go for it. My girls all have very Irish names and they don't appear to be traumatised by it yet.

I think if your surname ends in an 'e' sound ie Murphy, McGinty - it would be a bit much.

Rory is a sweet name though.

Hmm, I love the name but if your surname is the one that ends in a y then the double y might be a bit much, but not stupidly IYSWIM

Any name that has a repeat sound in the second name might sound odd, but thats not necessarily the case here.

Think its fine. I have a friend called Rory Dymond and I think its hilarious but not an issue really.
