I think you say Rea you hear Gonna

MbatataOwl · 05/08/2022 20:36

Diarrhoea

Londoncatshed · 05/08/2022 20:37

Love it but always childishly think of Diar...

GuyFawkesDay · 05/08/2022 20:39

This made me laugh!

toastofthetown · 05/08/2022 20:40

Not a fan, but also not a fan of Mia, Gia, Lia, Pia etc.

soupmaker · 05/08/2022 20:42

I like it. Makes me think of Rhea Perlman. I also know a Ria, which is short for Maria.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 05/08/2022 20:44

Rear. Rhea. Makes me think of those. It's a nothingy name to me. Boring I'm afraid. But if you're set on it, I think the Ria spelling is much better.

riotlady · 05/08/2022 20:44

I like Ria, Rea just makes me think of driving home for Christmas

BluOcty · 05/08/2022 20:44

I like it but prefer raya pronunciation rather than ree-a. Would maybe spell it Rhea.

PollyPeeves · 05/08/2022 20:45

As above… too many ways to make it something unpleasant.

I prefer Reeva

Stayathomenamechange · 05/08/2022 20:45

Honestly my first thought was "drivin' home for Christmas..."

And now that's in my head for the night, cheers

GuyFawkesDay · 05/08/2022 20:47

Rea = Chris
Rhea = large flightless bird

You might be better with Ria, Riva or Rhia (like Pearlman)

VeggieSausage · 05/08/2022 20:51

Makes me think of Rear as in Rear End... sorry!

Cripes · 05/08/2022 20:56

I know one and I always think rhea end, bring up the rhea, passengers in rows 20 and above please board from via the rhea steps...

I won't never name a child after my arse

Won't never? Stupid autocorrect. I would never

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/08/2022 20:58

Make me think of Rear, like your bum.

How about Thea?

jammiewhammie65 · 05/08/2022 20:59

No how about Leah

ellieboolou · 05/08/2022 20:59

Sorry but it's an awful name, will always associate it with the runs

siblingrevelryagain · 05/08/2022 21:00

It’s dire (see what I did there?)

SunnyNunny · 05/08/2022 21:02

I think it’s a beautiful name.

MargotChateau · 05/08/2022 21:03

Sorry I went to a school with a Ria, and she went through school getting teased, with riffs of her name like diarrhoea or gonorrhoea. Child abuse mate, don’t do it.

BluOcty · 05/08/2022 20:44

I wouldn't spell it that way. A rhea is a kind of ostrich!

My DD has a friend called Ria. She's Hindu, it's a popular name in her religion. She's a beautiful girl and her name suits her.

TailSpinner · 05/08/2022 21:05

It looks nice written down. But it doesn’t sound like much when you say it out loud.
It just sounds like ‘rear’ - as in rear end.

mrsed1987 · 05/08/2022 21:06

I'm a Ria. Named after a character in a TV show in the 80s, occasionally had the diarrhoea comments in primary school but never bothered me. Lots of people comment on it being nice but uncommon.

I did get annoyed being unable to get anything with my name on as a child
