Which would you say is the most auspicious name? Wretched grandmothers interfering.

Mowgli, montezuma or mungo?

And how many guide parents is usual. I can't decide and dh is a wet fish in all these things.

Mowgli? Really?

OldF0ssil · 14/09/2014 17:23

Blimwy your taste needs reining in a bit.

My mum made a face at stella , greta & phoebe. I still love them. She'd have got used to them i guess.

Mungo (sniff)

picnicbasketcase · 14/09/2014 17:28

Are you trying to choose one to tell them you're using to freak them out or get them to stop making suggestions or something? Because any of the above would be fine.

specialmagiclady · 14/09/2014 17:31

Mowgli was the original choice, stick with it! These provincial types will never understand!

(Secret handshake)

DannyShouldHaveChosenRizzo · 14/09/2014 17:33

But if you go with mowgli there is a danger he could repeatedly make the same mistakes. Wink
Why not look into the numerology around the names?

FishWithABicycle · 14/09/2014 17:47

dear god, poor child.

MummyBeerest · 14/09/2014 17:50

Mowgli. Classic.

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 14/09/2014 18:01

Is this a joke thread? Because those are surely joke names, apart from Mungo if you're Scotish. Montezuma? Really? Have you never heard of Montezuma's Revenge?

halfwildlingwoman · 14/09/2014 18:05

Mowgli, go for it. Neil and Chris love it. And could you get up for the odd night feed?

DurhamDurham · 14/09/2014 18:05

I prefer Baloo......

Vitalstatistix · 14/09/2014 18:07

montezuma. As in montezuma's revenge, aka the shits?

Go with that one. That's the best one. That'll really shut them up Grin

They'll be so relieved when you reveal the real name that they won't say a word.

If it's good enough for Chris then it's got to be Mowgli

iamEarthymama · 14/09/2014 18:36

I thought of
"In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find ...."

dum de dum de dumty dum, dumpy dumpety dum!

Though I must say I quite like Mungo! Though would I want my next grandson to be called this, well I am not sure. ??

PrettyLittleMitty · 14/09/2014 18:44

Please don't call your child any of those names

CollieEye · 14/09/2014 18:50

I went to Uni with a Mungo. Also had a mate nicknamed Monty Zoomer, so I think Mowgli..

Vitalstatistix · 14/09/2014 18:50

I don't think she is.

Judging by the grandparent interference part of her post, I think these names are what she's telling the grandparents the child will be named, to wind them up. Grin

Toadsrevisited · 14/09/2014 18:53

I get the reference!

What's been happening this week? Have had visitors and a poorly DS so haven't heard a single one!

Oh, and I think Mowgli too. Grin

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 14/09/2014 18:56

Ha love them all! Certainly too urban for the villagers to 'get' Wink

Shallishanti · 14/09/2014 18:57

another one here who thinks of in the summertime
High court judge rule, people! Put Mowgli as a middle name. How about Kim? No pronounciation squabbles and a Kipling ref.
Kim Mowgli
maybe we'll get an update from OP through other channels shortly?Wink

PseudoBadger · 14/09/2014 19:09

You need to make sure you are pronouncing Mowgli correctly; it should rhyme with Cow.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 14/09/2014 19:20

Toadsrevisited. it's been a very exciting week in Ambridge. You can catch up over here.

Leonie L4j4eva, what does James your DP say? I second the suggestion that you look into the numerology of the name, btw. You may find that James your DP is a 5, though, as your DMIL has suggested, so maybe don't take that too seriously. Grin

Theas18 · 14/09/2014 19:23

L4J I think you've been outed. There was a suspicious sniff up thread that sounds awfully like your step mums hay fever.

Thinking of you but I think you need to disappear for a bit or they'll all be here.

Remember if it's good enough for the pet shop boys......
