At first I thought it was Clay and was a bit hmmmm. Then found out it was with a K....

Thought?

personally I don't like it, they probably spelt it with a K as they already have a son called Kai, so they have two K names.
I definitely couldn't call my DS Clay/Klay with DPs surname!

I agree - I'm not a fan of matching first letters especially when you have to butcher a perfectly good name to make it work ( a la Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian!)

It's better than Kai but Clay would have been SO much better.

I do like matching first letter names for siblings but wouldn't purposely change the first letter or pick 2 names starting with the same letter JUST so they matched.
I went to the same school as siblings whose names all began with K, a few of them actually "normally" spelt with a C.
Do you know any?

I'm hearing Klay with a scouse accent and its not working for me smile

I dont care. Each to their own. Just congratulations to them on another little baby.

This K hate needs to go grin

They already have a Kai and are naming their second son Klay? The names sound a little too similar to me.

And what if letters are addressed to Mr K Rooney? Might get a little confusing sharing initials with your brother...

I don't hate K names but Clayton with diminutive Clay is a rather nice, boys name. Why the need to "You-neekercize" it?

Eskino Tue 21-May-13 12:25:02

See Debs, Cassius is a lovely name, they could have gained many more Mumsnet points for calling their new arrival Cassius grin

Yes, Clayton, nickname Clay would have worked better imo.

I'm surprised really as Kai is such an ordinary name & Klay-especially with the K seems made up by comparison.

I really don't like it. And Kai and Klay don't go well together at all.

I don't care what they have called him, he is very cute and I want to smell him <me broody, nope >
