What names 'fit' with:
Megan, Ella, Emily and Charlie?
Would something like 'Petal' or 'Daisy' be a bit odd as an addition?
What girl's name would you pick?

For Megan, Ella, Emily and Charlie, I'd go for:
Lola, Charlotte, Olivia, Mia, Isla, Darcey, Millie.
Petal doesn't go; Daisy does. Matilda could go, but isn't an entirely comfortable fit, IYSWIM.

If Matilda was shortened to 'Tilly' or 'Maddie' that night help!

Yes - your suggested NNs fit, but Matilda as a full name only really goes with Ella and Emily (similar vintage sound, whereas Megan and Charlie are more modern). Maddie/Tilly bridges the gap very well, I think

Not that it's a massive gap, to be fair.
Megan, Ella, Emily, Charlie and....
Hannah
Lily
Faye
Anna
Mabel

I think Daisy or Lily would go, but Petal would be a worse fit.
Does it matter to you if it doesn't "go"? It matters to me, but not to everyone.
Molly?
Millie?
Katy?

After thinking about it, neither would I. It was just a well-meaning suggestion.

sw11, what would your suggestions actually be, as opposed to critiquing other's suggestions?

Lizbeth (Lizzy, Beth, Betsy)

I think Daisy would fit okay, sorry can't take Petal seriously, just my own view.
Tilly is quite a popular abbreviation of Matilda I thought?

Petal really isnt a name though, is it.
Like Lily and Daisy but prefer Poppy, if its a flower name you are looking for.
I like Matilda but think it clashes with Megan.
To add..... Alice, Robyn, Darcie, Pippa.
