Been strolling through recent discussions and can't see a mention of it.
One week away from eviction day and can't decide on names.

Love it. Met a recent one, great name for a baby and grows with them.

Do it, great name!

Ahhhh a really cute little Rupert ran across my pathway yesterday, i love the name and boy was he a cutie pie smile

PuffPants Sun 17-Feb-13 20:48:57

I do like it but it does scream bear, doesn't it? Or Murdoch?

cookielove Sun 17-Feb-13 20:52:20

PuffPants i didn't make either of those connections blush

Branleuse Sun 17-Feb-13 20:53:11

Love it, ds2's middle name.

ceramicunicorn Sun 17-Feb-13 20:56:08

Love it

DH thinks it's too poncy and queer sounding. I really like it but am one of those people who can't finally decide until I see him/her (we don't know the sex). DS1 was actually nameless for 4 days. Is anyone else like this?

PhyllisDoris Sun 17-Feb-13 21:06:01

Ruperts are usually posh or gay, or bears. Or all three grin

chocosaurus Sun 17-Feb-13 21:12:13

PhyllisDoris my DS just laughed when I read him your comment and said that's exactly what he thinkssad

MarshaBrady Sun 17-Feb-13 21:16:07

Ha at gay posh bears. I love it. But am aware of its aura, probably why it's middle name.

Chavvytastic Sun 17-Feb-13 21:17:07

I quite like it but i do think that Ruperts do generally suffer from stereotyping.

mrstowers Sun 17-Feb-13 21:20:47

Yes awful gay posh bears name! Yak!

lucywiltshire Sun 17-Feb-13 22:16:48

Rupert Campbell-Black - Jilly Cooper's most gorgeous male character so forget the fact there is a bear also called Rupert (no little kids will have heard of him will they?) and go for it. Love it!!

boxoftricks Sun 17-Feb-13 22:29:54

Friend wanted Rupert. She went for Ruben in the end as she couldn't shake the bear.

sowornout Sun 17-Feb-13 22:32:44

Very posh. Depends where you live, I suppose. Any 'Rupert' round here would have the piss ripped out of him, I'm afraid.

BlingBubbles Sun 17-Feb-13 22:33:49

I do like the name but I did immediately think of the bear grin

OkayHazel Sun 17-Feb-13 23:36:27

Rupert Grint is not gay, posh or a bear.

sowornout Sun 17-Feb-13 23:40:50

No...but he'd still have had the piss ripped out of him for his name if he lived round here.

OkayHazel Sun 17-Feb-13 23:49:29

Then I'd be looking to move. 'Round here' sounds terrible.

germyrabbit Sun 17-Feb-13 23:51:50

nor is rupert penry-jones

PelvicFloorClenchReminder Sun 17-Feb-13 23:53:59

My first thought was Rupert Giles from Buffy.

I really love it though!

I had a schoolfriend whose younger brother was called Rupert.

At home his nickname was Poo grin
