Just that really.

Very nice. For a boy or girl.

LadyKinbote Sat 16-Feb-13 08:03:16

It's a lovely name but prepare yourself for people getting the gender wrong!

Loveleopardprint Sat 16-Feb-13 08:36:08

I love it. One of my friends just called her new son Robin. Think it is unusual and interesting.

sooperdooper Sat 16-Feb-13 08:38:56

I like it, I think it's spelled Robin for a boy and Robyn for a girl smile

Haylebop12 Sat 16-Feb-13 08:39:44

I thought spelling for boys and girls was different.

Robyn - girl
Robin - boy

Or not?

Haylebop12 Sat 16-Feb-13 08:40:19

Oh cross post?

Cutandstick Sat 16-Feb-13 08:45:34

My DP is that and I love it!

I like Robin as nn for Robert.

I wouldn't choose Robyn for a girl but I know one who is lovely. She is in her 30s and it suits her.

kelda Sat 16-Feb-13 08:49:56

Robin is perfectly acceptable for a girl. I've known two girls with this name, spelt that way.

LadyKinbote Sat 16-Feb-13 10:01:23

Yes I know two female Robin's too.

MidnightMasquerader Sat 16-Feb-13 10:09:49

I know an 80-year old female Robin.

Nice for either gender.

AlwaysHoldingOnToStarbug Sat 16-Feb-13 11:38:16

It's a lovely name. The males I know are Robin and the females Robyn. So if I saw the spelling Robin I would automatically assume boy.

Ruth22m Sat 16-Feb-13 13:51:54

I love it - It's my nephew's name smile

I love it. Both Robyn for a girl was on my list but veto'd by dp and robin for a boy.

gorgeous name for either boy or girl

TwllBach Sat 16-Feb-13 14:05:38

I love Robyn for a girl, but my problem is that I don't like Rob for a nickname, so couldn't use it for myself sad

TheBuskersDog Sat 16-Feb-13 14:06:56

I don't personally like it (assuming you mean Robin for a boy), can't really explain why, just think it's a bit of a 'wet' name. Probably not helped by the only child I've known called Robin being a whiny little pain in the bum.

Bue Sat 16-Feb-13 14:32:45

I like it. Slightly prefer if for a girl (either spelling) but it's nice for either gender.

Makes me think of batman. Sorry!

LemonBreeland Sat 16-Feb-13 14:37:03

It is one of those names that if I hear it on a boy I think that's a girls name, and if I hear it on a girl think it's a boys name.

Morgan also falls into that category for me.

JenaiMorris Sat 16-Feb-13 14:43:24

It's ace.

Also, you can't ascribe it to a particular walk of life. A Robin could be a painter, a footballer, a historian, a labourer. It's a name that could take you anywhere.

Gentleness Sat 16-Feb-13 14:43:47

My first thought: Batman. Sorry!

seeker Sat 16-Feb-13 14:47:14

Robin short for Robert is lovely. Robin on its own not.

activatetherhythm Sat 16-Feb-13 15:01:18

It's a lovely name, very sweet for a little boy and really nice for an adult male. Like it for a girl too but I would then spell it Robyn.
