Dd due in April and we're struggling for a name. But we both love reading and nature (especially birds) so perhaps there's something there...I've looked through Shakespeare, and love Emilia, but DH isn't keen. My other literary heroines don't have names I particularly like (Lydia, Josephine, Nell...) and we don't like flower names. So ruling those out, can anyone think of names with a literary connection or which link to nature?

Sorry - saw you'd got Josephine down as a no-go after posting. I will retract it and give you Marianne instead. And Dorothea.

My DD is Flora. I looked at all the Shakespearian names too, but for one reason or another none of them would do.

My dd's name covers both - it's Sorrel. It's from Curtain Up by Noel Streatfeild, now annoyingly known as 'Theatre Shoes'.
