So we are having DS2. Thrilled apart from the slog that is finding a name that DH and I actually both like. We stupidly gave DS1 both names we eventually agreed on as a first and middle name, rather than saving one for any future children.
We are so rubbish with names at this point, we are even calling the bump the same pet name we call DS1 with the term "little" in front of it. Ooops.
So that DS2 actually gets a name, could anyone help?
Neither of us is a fan of traditional English names (no Harry, James, William etc). Nice names but not for us. I am not British by origin and our DS1 has a family name from my country - think Eastern Europe somewhere.
I don't want a made-up name but looking for something that is a bit unusual. If it has an Eastern European flavour, that helps. Any ideas?

Dashiell is great and Dash would be a very cool nickname for boy of all ages! There's some great names on these lists. It's celtic names all the way for us (OH is Scottish and my family are all Irish and I've got an Irish name) but if it werent I'd be trying to force some of these into the list!

How funny bear we were discussing Dashiell the other day as I liked it. DH liked the fact you could maybe be called "Dash" which sounded cool.

Thanks everyone. Some great names on here. Just trying to balance a name we love with it being at least vaguely recognisable in the UK. No-one can ever spell or pronounce DS1's name (although it is very short!) which we hadn't expected as we didn't think it was very unusual. Whoops.

Some of these are diminutives, but I think you could use them as names in their own right in England. I like Emil, and the connection with the book is cool.

Hahahahaha ivykaty. That's a good plan. I might take that option whatever name we go for....
Lie to the Inlaws then - tell them it is spelt yarnis and just put it correctly on other paper work - they will not find out for 10 years or so by which time no explination will be needed

Well, math had DS1's middle name on the list so you are all being a great help. I've not thought of a few of these at all, so will quickly run them past DH.
Although sadly Goran makes me have inappropriate kinky thoughts about a certain tennis player so that one's out for my child.....
