Single-syllable girl's names - unusual but not too unusual

Hi all,

Just trying to think of some nice single-syllable girl's names that aren't too common - like Anne, Jane, Brooke, Paige, Bree, Fern and Hope, but none of those are quite right.

Ruth, Beth and Faith are no good coz our surname ends in 'th'.

Any suggestions ladies?

You could always call her the long form of a lovely name on her cert and then just shorten it to whatever you like - gives you more scope, and gives her a choice later on.

Thank you. I would like a name if possible that stands by itself and is not a shortening of a longer name, I'm looking for something simple (but hopefully stylish). Liking some of these, but thought I'd just bump this thread to see if anybody else has any suggestions for me...

Not so keen on the names of girls I went to school with in the 80s like Sian and Clare. Niamh is nice.

I also like Grace as a name. I know Iris is probably 2 syllables but I just love it as a name. And it is short! When somebody told me of a little girl called Iris I did think it was such an attractive name.
