A long shot I know but does anyone know any Albanian names. I've heard a few but they either sound awful or have really odd spellings.

I rather like Alban - familiar here as a saint's name and the town of course. Not common but not outrageously strange, nn's could be Al, Ali or Albie.
What did you go for in the end?
My partner is Kosovan, our daughter is Elira :-)

My nephew is half albanian and is called Adrian (add-ree-an). It was a bit of a compromise for my Dsis at the time with the inevitable mispronunciation of aid-ree-an
but a well known footballer has made it a more familiar name over here in the last few yrs.
DN has always be known as Adi. My Dsis made clear to the school that his 'name to be known by' is Adi and there has never been a problem with this.
