Harris.

MrsMadWriggle · 26/08/2010 16:37

Also immediately thought Harris

Pioneer · 26/08/2010 16:38

Harris ROFL sorry

Bacofoil · 26/08/2010 16:38

Um, it's the noise you make when you're being sick.

Sorry.

theagedparent · 26/08/2010 16:39

I know a baby Ralph which is nicer

CuppaTeaJanice · 26/08/2010 16:39

Harris?

I always thought it was short for Rudolph, which is worse.

It would be a nice name if Mr Harris didn't exist, unfortuntely your son would have to put up with wobble board impressions, 'can you see what it is yet?' and Jake the Peg and digeridoo references for his whole life.

Pioneer · 26/08/2010 16:39

Ralph is nice

'Can you see what it is yet' Very funny!! I think that has convinced me that it's not a goer!! Ralph is a good alternative! Thank you all!!

My first thought was ROFL and then Harris, not a fan of the name sorry. What about Rafe?

MrsMadWriggle · 26/08/2010 16:44

Rafe is quite classy. Sorry to put a damper on it AT

Pioneer · 26/08/2010 16:52

Don't some people pronounce Ralph, rafe?

As in Ralph Fiennes

rachel234 · 26/08/2010 17:24

I know a German Rolf. Seems quite common there (e.g. Rolf Benz).

Rolf · 26/08/2010 17:24

It's a marvellous name Grin

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 26/08/2010 17:28

oh please please no

MrsMadWriggle · 26/08/2010 17:30

Wasn't there a Rolf in the Sound of Music?

Bacofoil · 26/08/2010 19:26

There's one in the Muppets.

SirBoobAlot · 26/08/2010 19:52

I saw ROFL.

Think he will constantly be asked "Do you know what is it yet?".

Ralph is nice though.

horatia · 26/08/2010 20:27

Harris.

Like Ralph though (if pronounced Ralph not Rafe)

JebusBuiltMyHotQuads · 27/08/2010 07:32

Rolf = Harris

Ralph = Wiggum (Miss Hoover, I ate the red crayon)

Both no in my book.

5DollarShake · 27/08/2010 09:12

I thought Muppets before I thought Harris! Blush

Ralph is good when pronounced Rafe. Not good when pronounced Ralph.

I love the name Rafe, and although it looks like a modern, bastardized spelling of Ralph, it has been around for centuries.

DandyDan · 27/08/2010 09:45

Rolf - Harris
Rolf - sneak in Sound of Music
Rolf - Muppet

However, I like it. But I have found that some people pronounce "Ralph" as "Rolf" so if you chose Ralph (pronounced that way and not "Rafe") you would still get the essential "Rolfishness" of Rolf in saying the name.

NiceCuppaT · 27/08/2010 10:00

Sorry, dislike Rolf and ralph (malph), do like Rafe though.

LarkinSky · 27/08/2010 13:07

What about Roald?

Rolf associations are probably from our generation, and not your childs, so don't worry about that too much. Mr Harris prob won't be a household name for your DS anymore!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 27/08/2010 19:54

Rolf=Harris, Muppets.
Rafe=ok, quite upper-class (Vaughan-Williams, Fiennes)
Ralph= the name of the boyfriend's penis in Forever. Forget it! Grin
