Girls names needed....getting urget!

Suggestions for a girls name please, i'm starting to panic!

Mustn't end with an 'e' sound, such as Evie, Daisy, Millie etc.

Not keen on trendy names but also not keen on very traditional, posh sounding ones!

Please help! :)

Not keen on Lila, prefer Lilia
Eve
Poppy
Maude
Edith
Mabel
Anna
Agatha

Sorry but Maude, Edith, Mabel and Agatha are too old lady for my liking.

Anna is boring, no offence meant.

Eve, very popular, and too similar to Evie, Ava etc

Already know a Poppy! And it ends with an 'E' sound which is not what i want ;)

Never heard of Lilia,is it made up?

I have a Lila (am a regular but name changed as it would out me immediately!). Never come across another, we think it is lovely and everyone comments favourably on it, except on here where it has been described as sounding like a brand of sanitary wear Grin

I still think it is a winner though!

A brand of sanitary wear!!?? People think up the most ridiculous things!

I agree it's a nice name and not too common, good choice! :)

My only gripe is it's a shortened name, and putting Delilah or Leila on a birth certificate doesn't agree with me! And how do you say "Leila"?

Lila is a brand of sanitary towel here.

Report
Mumtolila · 21/08/2010 17:07

We considered Delilah but decided we would never use it so stuck with Lila. Meh to the sanitary towel thing, it's just my daughter's name to me.

Leila is pronounce 'Layla' whereas Lila is 'Lie-la'. It's a more common name in the states I think.

I have just read on-line Lilia is a brand of sanitary towel, not Lila? They sound quite different to me!

Where a bout's is this as i've never heard of it relating to the above!?

Yes, but Liberty is/was a brand of sanitary wear ad that didn't put people off, did it?

Isn't Kate Moss' daughter called Lila? Not that that's a bad thing...

I know what you mean tummytickler, i am worried it is a little too trendy.

I have always liked Astrid, it's a bit different, but DH doesn't like it!

Also like Ella, Grace and Florence but i think they are all far to popular now so i won't choose them. Plus i know a few already/have them in the family.

Any others as not keen on any other suggestions so far!!
