What is the very best way to preserve flowers that my gorgeous DS gave me?

I collected DS from preschool today and clutched in his hands with his little beautiful face he had a couple of stalks of the most beautiful sweet smelling sweetpeas that his teacher let him pick to give to me! He was so divine and eager and sweet and I will never ever forget it. They are in a vase now but how can I best preserve them so I can treasure them always? It was such a lovely moment I dont want to forget it. Thanks.
