Crochet pattern help please

I've recently started crocheting and have become a bit obsessed!

I've been making granny square blankets and some hats as they seem quite straightforward. I thought I would try something a bit more complicated but I'm stuck at one point. It's a hexagon blanket with a heart pattern in it.

This is part of the pattern:
Round 13: Slip st in next dc, ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, * [ch 2,
3 dc in next space] twice, ch 2 **, skip next dc, dc in next 7
dc; repeat from around, end at ; join.
Round 14: Slip st in next dc, ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, * [ch 2,
3 dc in next space] 3 times, ch 2 , skip next dc, dc in
next 5 dc; repeat from around, end at ; (ch 1, sc in top
of ch 3) to join and form last space
Round 15: Ch 3, 2 dc in space just formed, ( ch 2, 3 dc in
next space; repeat from * around; ch 2 join to top of ch 3.

I'm struggling with the bit in bold. When I finish Round 14 (or any of the previous rounds), I am at the start of the next section of stiches on my left, with the space on my right, but reading Round 15, it sounds like the space should be on my left. It's like I need to go backwards. Do I need to turn? Or should I just ignore the 2 dc in the space and do them at the end of the round instead?

I'm newish to crochet myself and am sure others far wiser in the way of the hook will be along, but I think you are right. Is this towards the end of the pattern? It might be how the hexagon is shaped.

It reads to me that you have made the space with your sc into the top of the first ch3 of round 14. If you then ch3, the space you need for your 2dc will be pretty much immediately at the base of your ch3, or slightly to the right of it, but I'm not sure that the "slightly to the rightness" is a problem.

That's the way it reads to me lackaDAISYcal, that the ch1 and sc are creating the space but when I've ch3 for round 15 and then tried to put 2dc in the space, the ch3 gets caught up in the 2dc. So then it's not the same as the rest.

It's not droitwich, it's right in the middle of the pattern.

I reread your first post lackaDAISYcal and tried the stitches a few times and it works. Just about. I had to make the sc a bit looser.
