Where to get fabric from?

Just that really. I really want to build up my stash of fabrics. I only really have a few bits left over that I have bought for specific projects and some from a few old clothes but most of the time if I want to make something I have to go out and buy the fabric for it.
Any ideas for a cheap way of building up a collection of interesting or pretty fabrics without laying out too much cash? Anything from big lengths to little offcuts would be useful.

I go to a local house clearance/second hand warehouse and have got some fab old sheets and pillowcases in great prints.

Fabricland.
Rooftop Fabrics.
Abakhan.
Elephant in my Handbag.
My Fabric House.

If you search for fabric co-op groups on Facebook there's a few that buy in at trade rates and divvy up the fabric, eg I buy Makower fabrics in at less than £7/m plus postage to get them to me. Another co-op imports from Fabric.com and gets a decent discount on that, too.

Som great tips there, thanks everyone. Think I need to start treating myself to little bits at a time. I'll look for facebook groups too, Rue, they sound interesting.

Great list here of on-line fabric sellers. scroll to the bottom for the more bargain end (and don't torment yourself looking at the other gorgeous, seriously expensive stuff! )

eBay is great I find. But it now prices are usually a bit cheaper than other shops and you can get real bargains on the auction pages

If you can get to an Aberkhan they usuakky have a remnants bin with mixed packs in there and some of the pieces are generous sizes.

I've give up altogether on fabric.com, since they were sold and moved warehouses the stock situation and making up of orders is abysmal, wrong items in order, damaged or marked fabrics, short lengths sent, items in stock on the web shop and not physically in stock, they used to be so good.

So many fabric trading websites here! I have ever met some kind of fabric designing website, guess if you wanna build up stash of fabrics, you can search them on google, that might help a lot, or perhaps it can help you bursting out more novel ideas.
