tiger or lion outfit ideas

My DS needs to dress up for school as a character in a book and he has decided to go as a tiger or lion. Any ideas on how to go about putting one together.

I would go for an easy option of yellow or orange clothes, spike his hair if it's remotely long/spikeable, stuff a pair of normal tan tights and sew either some 1"wide strips of yellow felt (or cut up an old duster) for the end of the tail and sew the other end onto the back of his trousers, and then paint a face.
