Have I missed a memo or something?

They're catching, like a fluffy virus.
I've seen lot's of kisses recently. I think it's our new found fame, what with GB stopping by and the Red hot women thing - lot's of new posters.

Hugs should only be acceptable on specific and fairly self-evident threads such as Bereavement, TTC, Relationships, Lone Parents [for those being bullied by abusive exs] and a few other.
Hugs should never ever appear in AIBU. That is just wrong.

ffs
tis to be added to bolding and stupid cliquey tea shop/ fat munters type threads
I think there's been a mass infiltration from elsewhere due to recent publicity etc. I 'spotted' someone I know last night posting (they don't know I know!) and they and a band of their online buddies from another site (prevalent for hugs and huns) were all over here chatting... so it could be that?

Ooh don't like the sound of that weegle.
I am all for hugs in appropriate threads (as listed by stewiegriffinsmom) but there is a time and place IMO. The receipt of a hug on MN should knock you over in overwhelmed shock and make you melt with viperish pride.
I dare one of them to come on to AIBU and say 'here have a hug hun'...
I'd rather have a big hun
hopefully someone will ask if they're AIBU in wanting to hug the women of MN? And then we could explain. In a viperish manner.

Are we going to be forced to have tickers too?
I would rarely hug a friend in real life to be honest! more likely a pat on the arm. What use is a virtual hug to anyone. I want some home truths, words of wisdom, and to hear other people's more horrifying experiences to make me realise mine's not so bad
