Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

dirtgirlworld - 'go get grubby' - except she doesn't!!

(18 Posts)
Anyone seen dirtgirlworld? It IS strangely compelling (think it's the mouths.), dd loves it and I like the premise. It's about a girl who likes being outside (creepy crawlies, growing things etc).
BUT it struck me, as she was singing a preachy song about 'Go get grubby' that she remains pristine throughout. Spooky airbrushed face, super clean wellies - doesn't this rather contradict their educational message?!

So AIBU to expect the main character in a show about getting grubby, to actually GET grubby?

YANBU and it's like they've morphed faces to make them really attractive but it hasn't worked (sort of like people who have plastic surgery - should work but looks kinda odd!) hmm

The boy looks especially weird IMO.
I agree, it is really bizarre, the Garbage-like music, the over sized faces and the dirt that isn't actually there. My 5 year old likes it, but I think it's just the novelty.
I don't like the faces. Too adult. It's weird. biscuit

DS calls it "Dirty Girl". Obviously he's completely unaware of the double entendre but still...

i hate it, it is so weird and really off putting to watch especially the worm with the face, i find it gross
For me it's the flirty, pouty expressions on her face.

Not for the kids' benefit is it?

I am hating it! And so is my DS1 who finds it terrifying and begs me to turn it off. [secret hooray!]

I think it's the real, toothy mouths floating in the lake of unreal plastic barbie flesh (shudder)
Agree about the title. That was my reaction too.
yes, i thought that - dirty girl!
i have seen it advertised, thought faces were just weird animation, now i know...urgh, freaky!

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
