AIBU?

to be suspicious of a smell?

My bed smells of my friend.

There I have said it.

I have nothing to base anything suspicious on regarding what my DH did or did not do last night when I was away for a rare night, at his insistence.

I have never had, and probably have no reason now to suspect anything negative. BUT.

I have been sat in bed recognising a smell. its not a sex smell, or a perfume smell, but its a person smell. And it took me a while to figure it out. But I now realise, without a shadow of a doubt that this smell is my friend's smell.

AIBU to have my suspicions of something not adding up here?

sex smell is sweaty musky smell.

YANBU to wonder how smell got there. Have you asked DH what he did while you were away/raised smell issue?

Am amazed that you could identify smell in the first place though. Your nostrils must be very acute.

I was just lying here after taking myself off for an early night and my nose started wrinkling, you know, like 'what is that smell?' and I could place it, but did not know where from. it reminded me of something, of someone, did not know where from, or whom but very familiar.

Then I realised what it was and was perplexed, but the more i smelt it the more i was sure thats what it is.

God my sense of smell was bonkers when I was pg. Wasn't doubting you sus, just impressed.

Mind you I rarely change our sheets so their normal smell is probably smelly

If it's not a sex smell then that's something. There could be many explanations. You need to talk to DH though. I'm not going to start suggesting what may or may not have happened.

Could you call your mate and ask her?

Probably best to start out assuming there is a sensible explanation if you have no reason to be suspicious apart from smell.

You will be able to tell if she sounds guilty/weird/lying etc I reckon.

Why were you away at his insistance?

The thing is, even now I am not necessarily thinking he is being unfaithful. He just would not do that. I know we can never be 100% sure, but he is not doing anything else that is causing concern, it is not another thing in a long line, we are having our second child and are both very much looking forward to extending our family. Our relationship is not perfect but it is not a shambles either.

Its all very strange .

God it is so strong i might have to change the sheets!

I would be suspicious of being away at his insistence

Have you double-checked that you do not smell like your friend? That it definitely isn't a "grown women" smell as opposed to a "Friend X" smell? As if you have been away and come back you might not immediately recognise yourself?

mmelindt because i have been working hard and getting stressed and he insisted I needed a break and he wanted to get on top of the housework/washing. So I took DD to a friend's who lives in the country and he sorted the house for me.

And he did. Well, I think he mostly played golf on the x-box but he did all the washing. which was a lot.

lovelytinofspam him. It is a him. The smell is a him smell.

Why the ?? Have you just remember that you slept with him?

Yes why the

Are you wearing his cardigan?

Have you found a box of still-warm butt plugs?

I am so stupidly pregnant it is unreal.

I have just started to take off the bedclothes to change them, as the smell is quite strong now and its bugging me.

So. I pick up DHs pillows. And he has a 'new' pillow. He borrowed a memory foam pillow from his friend who recommended it, as DH snores quite badly and he was considering buying one. This friend said try mine, its clean, hardly used, just change the case.

I just whiffed it. OMG it is horrendous! That is not a clean pillow! That is a pillow that has been used a lot and never cleaned! Why did DH not clean it? Why did he not just buy himself a new one?

{blush] for 2 reasons. One that I was suspicious and Two that my DH had a fucking scanky pillow on his bed

Well what a relief that your husband is not actually a devious bastard having gay sex with your mate

And actually he is just a big Crap With Washing

Report
suspiciousssss · 14/08/2009 21:30

He borrowed it yesterday when we were around there visiting, so I would not have smelt it before now.

I love all your theories - in particular 'have you just remembered you slept with him' LOL.

Well thank christ for that.

The gay sex with your mate while expecting 2nd child would not have been a happy outcome!

Just remember that at no point did you seriously think anything could have happened. You were simply puzzled

Your DH will be stunned when you tell him you sniffed out a pillow!
