Aibu to ask people to fill in the survey with what they really think?

"Bounty Sales Reps have no place on a postnatal ward. My son was four hours old and my husband sent home, yet some random non health professional person was able to wander around the ward. You, the individual reading this, should be ashamed that you are involved with such a morally dubious company."

Hope people will also fill in the survey with their actual experiences.

Some of the stuff described on the other Bounty threads is indefensible.

Luckily for me my actual experience was not a bad one, but I can still leave feedback that in my opinion they shouldnt be there at all, can't I?

I would gladly have done so but it doesn't accept dates before 2012.

Genuine question. What is the issue with Bounty?

Have they got much worse since I was last on a postnatal ward in 2004? I don't even remember meeting anyone, much less hassled for photos or strangers wandering round or any of the other horror stories I've read about on here.

Very pushy lady who less than 24 hours after the birth of my son really tried to insist on me purchasing the photos she had taken, I told her I would do it online once I had got home, but she still kept telling me, I could start a payment plan, she could take card details and hold till payday, and I would only get the best deals in hospital - a good couple of times, even after I told her I was happy to go online, she was too persistent and pushy!

I think the issue is the horror stories you read on here.

It's great that you didn't have any problems from them, but others sadly have.

I agree parsing, I just figured it would look less umm, like an organised protest (?) if I wrote my experience rather than someone elses. Even without a bad experience myself, I still 100% think they shouldnt be there, I'm not just reacting because of a bad experience, which might be what they would think? I guess I thought there would be plenty of genuine bad feedback, no need for me to embellish the truth? Do you see what I mean?

Or, you may not remember meeting a bounty person because they dress like "hospital staff" and dont introduce themselves, so no reason to remember them any more than any particular midwife or cleaner.

They may have not disturbed you at all, and just taken your details from your hospital notes.

I never saw a bounty lady. I got handed a pack by the ward receptionist.

Scored the squawky dragon a 0 and had a rant.

It's totally unethical for salespeople to target hospital patients who have just given birth and often have drugs in their system. I have given feedback that says as much.

Dear bounty ladies.

When visiting a post natal ward and a new mother tells you her child is in special care, that's why she's not in the crib, do NOT say "we'll that inconvient. I'm meant to take pictures now. Can you go and get her?"

This was the worst moment of my second day post birth. You caused it.

I thought i'd not had a bad experience with the bounty lady, until i really thought hard. After dd2, i lost a lot of blood and had to have a blood transfusion so think that's why i cannot really remember it.

The photographer came in and asked if i wanted a pic took. I said yes (even though i had no plan to buy it as not a lot of money, but thought it better than arguing with her) So she starts dressing dd (was just in a vest)/wrapping her in a blanket pretty roughly, i felt like walloping her one.

^The bounty lady made me cry

When DD was in her incubator, unable to be cuddled the insistance of your representative that 'surely a quick 5min for pictures won't hurt' reduced me to tears. She was 18hrs old, limp, could not pass apgar scoring, could not retain heat, could not feed and yet you insisted on pushing your stupid pictures. In this modern age if I wanted pictures to remind me of that happy time I would have bloody well taken them myself!

The fact that your rep returned the following morning after my EXPRESS WISH that I never see her again beggers belief.^

Blimey, this moved on a bit... I'm glad people are sharing their stories direct with Bounty, I didn't want them to be able to come back to the MN campaign and say "these mum's liked our service". Some of the stories, particularly those about people who's babies were in scbu are horrific.

My story not horrific, but I thought I was relatively strong and self assured and still felt like I couldn't say no to giving my details. The amount of spam I get now is dreadful.

To the poster who asked what is so bad, I think it comes down to being in a healthcare setting where you are vulnerable and having that vulnerability played on , presumably so they can meet targets.

Bounty reps are now banned in NHS Highland hospitals.

Although I'm single and male, and only ever associated Bounty with chocolate and kitchen towels, having seen some of the comments here and on the campaigns page, I feel for those who were bothered, and esp those who had babies that were in a life and death situation...

For northlight, and the excellent news that
"Bounty reps are now banned"

let's hope that becomes the case nationwide !
(and the same for any alternatives to Bounty)
