I have several favourite mugs, Is it too much to ask that he uses one of them and not the horrible thick one? I like a nice thin china mug.

grin

Ok I'm bored, sorry.

YANBU, I hate when tea is made in the wrong mug. I have my DH well trained in my hierarchy of mugs.

However YABU to prefer a thin mug. That's just wrong.

AmberLeaf Wed 23-Jan-13 21:09:29

Ruination. The wrong mug is just wrong.

Tip it down the sink and make him do it again you abusive sod

IAmLouisWalsh Wed 23-Jan-13 21:09:33

I have to have a thick mug, but specifically one of my nice blue ones.

My mam always uses the thin china ones on the top shelf.

If I go under a bus tomorrow, the mugs will never ever ever be put away properly again. It's not hard, but there is a system!

YANBU

Mug etiquette is crucial. Getting wrong is bad and he needs to buy you something to make up for it

grin

Leave the bastard wink

I cannot abide drinking tea from a mug or cup that isn't white on the inside. The tea looks a strange colour and imo tastes funny!

ThePinkOcelot Wed 23-Jan-13 21:13:28

YANBU! Some mugs just make a horrible cup of tea.

sittinginthesun Wed 23-Jan-13 21:14:29

I have DH well trained. grin

Thin mug (green spotty if available), for tea. Thick Habitat mug for coffee. Thin mug for black coffee in the summer. It's not difficult.

LTB

My DH knows I only ever drink my coffee out of my lovely 'Mrs Gerard Butler' cup that he bought me. He would never dare to make it in the wrong one or I would put jelly in his shoes grin

GroupieGirl Wed 23-Jan-13 21:16:15

trixy I too have a heirarchy of mugs...but my biggest pet hate is taking a lower-ranked mug from the cupboard when there is a superior model on the draining board.

YANBU

My DH made my tea in my hot chocolate mug the other day

TEA from a mug with 'Terry's Chocolate Orange' on the front??? << Classy >>

I withered him with a death stare.

everlong Wed 23-Jan-13 21:16:39

Glad it's not just me. I have only 4 mugs that I drink out nutcase

Nancy66 Wed 23-Jan-13 21:16:39

You are damn well not being unreasonable.

I have one mug for tea and one for coffee and I hate it when i get given my tea mug with coffee in it.

Mrsrobertduvall Wed 23-Jan-13 21:16:50

Yanbu.
Ds made me one earlier in the big doggy chunky mug which is his.

I made him make me another one and whipped him severely.smile

Zappo - I am so glad you've posted that, I am exactly the same. Tea in a cup with a non white inside is just wrong and doesn't taste right.

I've just shown your post to dd1&2 who thought it was just me being odd.

I always make his tea in his formula one cup,so tomorrow I'm going to make his tea in the I love my grandma mug and see how he likes it.

thegreylady Wed 23-Jan-13 21:20:43

I hate it if someone else uses my mugs! It isnt hard-if it says grandma it is mine, if it has a mouse on it- mine, the thick one with pic of cream tea-mine,the flowery Cath Kidston one-mine....one or two more but people will use mine. There are 4 Next mugs with flowers on-not mine-easy grin

GetOrf Wed 23-Jan-13 21:20:54

No YANBU.

DD made me a cup of tea in the wrong cup (I have two stripy bastards). I keep meaning to bin them so it never happens again. It was horrible. Cup is the wrong shape and size.

I also have 'nice' wooden spoons and 'bastard' wooden spoons.

Three divisions of teaspoons and forks (I have mixed cutlery because I have to replace it because all the cutlery gets fucking LOST).

And three precious square bowls. I can't be doing with the circular bowls.

I don't drink hot drinks, but my mum will only drink coffee out of my bunnykins christening mug! She looks quite cute all tucked up on the sofa with my dinky little mug! But then she does go on at length when I make her a cold drink about the glasses she will/won't drink out of - nothing 'stubby', too tall, too thick, too thin, preferably a medium rounded heavy bottomed tumbler. freak

GetOrf Wed 23-Jan-13 21:21:47

DD bought me a great cup for Christmas - Usain Bolt with the queen's head on. But I can't use it to drink out of - it's wrong.

shallweshop Wed 23-Jan-13 21:22:55

YANBU. I hate it when DH makes me a morning cuppa at weekends and he uses one of the old mugs from the back of the cupboard (kept for using with a flask on picnics etc) rather than take a nice clean freshly washed one from the dishwasher!!

GetOrf Wed 23-Jan-13 21:23:03

God we are all mad.

Zappo Wed 23-Jan-13 21:25:18

The Original

It makes perfect sense as you can't tell if you've got the strength right/ put enough or too much milk in if the inside is anything but white as the colour of the tea is different. (I will admit to occasionally sniffing a cuppa to see if it's been made the right strength for me but I still need the right visuals).

My colleagues now know the drill after palming me off with a blue on the inside orange on the outside horror a while back.

Cold drinks must be drunk out of a tall thin glass.
