The multivitamins "made specially for women" are a very fetching shade of pastel pink. Vitamins supposedly taken by grown ups. You know, women with jobs and children and smartphones.

Please tell me the vitamins for men are blue. That will make my rage cup spilleth over Xmas Angry

Not the worst offender though... Was in hospital recently. All hospital gowns for women were... You guessed it! Pink! With little, itty-bitty flowers and actual butterflies. You can be in pain, be chucking up your guts, and be zoned out on meds, but a the cutest little pink gown will perk you up no end...

When did this pink invasion take over the adult world?

And counting to ten....1 2 3 4

My pregnacare are the most horrible shade of brown, I wouldn't mind them being a nice pink.

Actually, read Ben Goldacre's book. The colour of pills has an effect on their efficacy. I don't remember exactly which colours are which but it is interesting. They may have done their homework and all the vitamins are bright colours.

The hospital gowns may be my fault. When I was in labour with DD I could any drink cranberry juice for a while. When the projectile vomiting started, everything was pink. Maybe they want to save on washing...

However, the pinkification annoys the piss out of me actually.

I dunno, I think when you are in hospital in pain or whatever do you really give a flying fart about the colour of your gown?? I would be more worried about my arse hanging out at the back Grin

I think pink is a very naice colour!

Hmmm.. Colour of pills and efficacy. Never knew that. See, you learn something new on here everyday. So why not any other bright colour? Why pink? And why for women? Suspicious. I would actually like a rainbow of colours in a pill bottle, you know, like jelly beans. Aaah, happy pills!

And hospital gowns gape at the back. Its regulation, doncha know. Again bright colours would be more cheerful. Olive green, yellow, red. I bet I would have been happy in the paediatric ward with balloons...

Not a joking matter, I know. But hospitals are depressing places...

Pink and red are cheap colourings as they're made from squished up beetles.

These tablets are the brand leaders so they are doing something right. Lots of women buy them.

My A-Z vitamins are pink too - they're just the plain ones though, not specially for womenz. I think your pill colour choice is fairly limited so I probably wouldn't be offended by it being pink in this instance.

Bettern than those horrible stripy brown Bionta!

The colour is more effective depending on what the pill is for. Cocaine would be pink because all the 'hot colours' are for stimulants. Blues/greens are more effective for depressants. Since we are taking vitamins to feel better and more well, it sort of makes sense for them to be pink.

I don't wear pink so the gowns would annoy me. What about a Chanel version of a LBG (Little Black Gown)?

Awww come on alis its not petty! I rebel against all that is deliberately "pink for girls". I actually dressed DD in orange camouflage babygros. Proud moment it was too....

And to open a bottle for women and be confronted by little pink things... Fair dos if it is something to do eith Goldacres theory.
