How are you today OP?

Big not bug, please don't not go as you don't want to be in a bug family!

So sorry to hear your loss.

Have you considered volunteering at a play group/nursery that you can do with the youngest DC? Or an afterschool activity you can take the DCs to?

If you have the money I would highly recommend riding lessons for the DCs, stables tend to absorb people into a bug family so it's easy for you to make friends as well as the DCs plus lots of drink tends to be involved while oils the wheels

Oh and a big hug from me too.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your second DC. Like Kleptronic, I can't begin to imagine what you have been through. It must have totally knocked you for six.

Sadly I'm not in your area, so can't offer to meet up. You say you can't manage evening activities - but what about during the day? Activities with your three year old where you can meet other mums, for example. Can you get involved with stuff at school with your older DC? Dare I say it, but have you tried netmums for meet-ups too.

In the meantime, keep posting and talking. And hopefully if we keep bumping this thread, someone in your area will see it and make some suggestions for local activities.

I cannot imagine what losing your baby must have been like for you. Agony, I expect. Although like I said, I can't pretend empathy with such an event, as I have not been through it. I am sorry for your loss.

Someone said on here once, that loss can make you cut ties with people, for fear of losing again. No idea if that's relevant to you, but it struck a chord with me at the time. Anyway, have a big hug from a stranger <hug>

Look at me rambling! Cup of tea and bed. Night all.

LonelyandItMakesMeSad Thu 22-Nov-12 23:22:13

I used to be very extrovert and the life and soul of everything. Losing my 2nd child at birth made me very insular and scared of everything but it's not 'me', I need people. I imagine I come across as a stuck up, snobby person but that is so far from the truth it's unreal!

LonelyandItMakesMeSad Thu 22-Nov-12 23:17:27

'Hi, how are you' with anyone.

Hi all!

I am a SAHM, enforced as cannot find a job. Youngest is almost 3.

LonelyandItMakesMeSad Thu 22-Nov-12 23:14:58

Oh Mardy thank you. No meetups near me unfortunately. I am in East Herts. Dh just in from work. Utterly hate the fact that he works until so late, Dcs in bed thankfully and only the cat for company. Can't do anything in the evening as DH works different days and hours so cannot commit to a class or anything.

Have now lived in this town for 6 years and not got further than 'Hi, how are you with anyone'.

I'll be your friend, lets drink wine and giggle all night.

I'll swop one of my five DCs for the cat grin
Where are you OP? If you're anywhere near me we can go for a cuppa or a drink anytime grin It's nice to have a new friend.

Megan74 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:09:21

I don't have many friends if its any help. But I am a grumpy old cow who gets irritated by the slightest thing so its self induced in my case.grin

Ok, I will be nice. Tell us more. Are you SAHM or WOHM (it matters as then someone can come along and advise tactics), recently moved to a new area, hobbies?

Aspiemum2 Thu 22-Nov-12 23:09:12

OP I will be your friend! passing off my utter loneliness as a charitable act of friendship I also have 4 dc's and a loving dh but it's not the same as real actual friends. I used to think I had quite a few, ds was diagnosed with asd and turned out I had 4 (who are lovely and gorgeous but vv busy)

So how about it, fancy a total nutter new friend in your life? grin

MardyBra Thu 22-Nov-12 23:06:55

Oh and have some virtual thanks and a brew. We're listening.

MardyBra Thu 22-Nov-12 23:06:04

Well for starters you have lots of people on here to chat to?

Where are you OP. do you have a MN local with a friendship bench?

LonelyandItMakesMeSad Thu 22-Nov-12 23:04:45

I WANT A FRIEND/S! I would be a lovely friend to someone!
