He has tonsilitus and been off for 2 days, been to the doctors and she didn't give antibiotics but said loads of drinks and calpol
He is well in himself and eating drinking normally, running around like normal.

if he seems well i would. not if it is just the calpol masking it though.

If he can cope with the full day without any problems and can join in with the normal activities, then he is fine imo.

Many schools won't give Calpol though, so bare this in mind.

Did she say if he was contagious? That would be the test for me - if he has tonsilitis, possibly he has it mildly but I suffered terribly as a child time after time after time. It is highly contagious so I wouldn't be too pleased if an infectious child was sent to my child's class TBH!!!

She should have given you guidance on keeping him off, or not.

If his temperature has returned to normal (without Calpol), then he'd be OK to go.

I feel guilty as I am off work with it as well, but I can't eat and struggling to drink and on antibiotics, co codmal and ibrufen
