Grape theft at work today - was i unreasonable to weigh a stalk

I feel like i have taken part in a crime. I work in a supermarket and today i watched as a mother wizzled round with her list (which she lost whilst in the fruit shoots aisle). Anyway i digress, this shopper let her child eat the whole bag of grapes she had picked (un weighed) then had the cheek to wander up to the checkout with just the stalk. I did not want to cause a scene so scanned the stalk Shock. I am now riddled with guilt in case my manager sees this on the CCtv and thiks i have been party to the crime. AIBU to think she not only commited a crime herself but now has also put my reputation at risk. For the record her list did say "nice ham", it also had 7 bottles of blossom hill, free grapes - wtf???? and pom bears. I bet the child is shittign through the eye of a needle tonight.

OMFG - you are clearly involved in a conspiracy - don't go trying a cover-up double bluff now. There's cameras above your checkout y'know.

All the mums in the area know you the dude that can sort us out with free grapes, you're for it now, weighing the stalk was a BIG mistake.

You deserve crap ham.

florencedougal · 07/05/2011 18:41

she is obviously abusive and controlling and gaslighting you

have you read a book lately? i am sure there is a self help one just right for this situation

FannyPriceless · 07/05/2011 18:42

Floaty boden lady? I wish.

Oh, wait. There's someone official looking knocking at the door.

supermarketworker · 07/05/2011 18:44
