For those whose dc's are allergic to cow's milk, but are OK with soya (such as my ds2), you may be interested to know that Alpro now appear to be doing a "creamy" yoghurt, which is significantly higher in calories than the standard Alpro yoghurt - more like the equivalent of full fat cows milk yoghurt. Hopefully excellent news for those of us who struggle to get any weight on dairy allergic dc's.

That sounds wonderful -- where did you hear about it and have you got some yet? Fed up of spooning massive dollops of Vitalite on top of everything

It seems to have the same calcium content as the other Alpro soya yoghurts. I saw it on Ocado - have ordered some for my next delivery, but not got it yet. I'll report back on what it's like. Unfortunately they don't seem to have a smooth version, but at least they have a cherry flavour which is ds2's favourite!

It seems Ocado is the only major online supermarket which has it. Tesco and Sains don't... am going to order tonight!

we found some in waitrose. Dd2 quite liked it but dd1 found it 'too rich' - I think as she's got to 8yrs old on a dairy free diet, anything 'creamy and rich' is just too hard for her to stomach, and just not what she's used to. Also it's the bity variety so if your dcs are adverse to bity yoghurts like mine it won't be a huge success!

DS is a stocky bugger so we will be avoiding thanks though! - wonders how her highly allergic child still manages to pile it on - like mother, like son ....!

I find it rather embarrassing TBH as every time we go to an allergy clinic or food challenge etc I think people want to redirect us to the diet clinic or something - and DS has a long list of allergens and I try not to give him crap

Can my ds2 have some of your ds's weight please, babybarrister? He is so tiny. People look at me like I am mad when I say he is starting in reception in september (he is still in 18-24 month clothes and they hang on him).

I am embarrassingly overexcited at the idea of full fat yoghurt that ds2 can eat!

He can have some of mine too if he likes

I think she takes after me, only has to look at a cake and gains two pounds lol , like u barrister I don't give her rubbish it's all home cooked with lots of fruit and veg.

We got some of the new yoghurt this weekend. I can report back that it is actually very nice and rich - much less watery than standard Alpro yoghurt. We've only tried the peach flavour so far mind.

Just tried the vanilla alpro soy big hit!!!!!! X
