I need presents for my 19yo and 16yo neices.

I have no idea what they would like as I don't see them very often.

We have an agreed amount of £10 or less

Please give me some ideas ...I'm clueless to what girls of this age might like!

Oh, and I can't buy them clothes/slippers because unfortunately I've no idea what size they are.

TIA

New look or river island vouches are sooo popular here.

Can you get them for less than a tenner?

...and actually I've no idea if they've got any kind of ipod blush

Plonker Sat 21-Nov-09 23:41:45

Sorry, that was to snice grin

Ooh plonker I have nieces of almost exactly the same age (are you my sister? Hi if so smile)

I gave them make-up last Christmas which I have a feeling went down like a lead balloon (I don't think I got a thank you letter from one of them, which is UNHEARD of, they are so well-brought-up). Yours might be keener - all my young student friends [ancient emoticon] wear lots of glitter at all times so I got them lots of sparkly fun eyeliners and shadows and things.

Cinema vouchers? What cinema do they have in their home town?

Plonker Sat 21-Nov-09 23:57:03

lol, no I'm not your sister Choosy - these are my neices on my husbands side - my sister only has my children as nieces grin

I can't ever remember seeing them wearing make-up (although I'm sure they do ...), they're very outdoorsy girls (love their horses and spend a lot of time on the farm).

Cinema vouchers are a good idea too. I'm thinking that maybe vouchers of some sort are the way to go as you can't really go wrong with them. It just seems a little, impersonal, iykwim. But then, I don't know what they've got/not got, so trying to second guess would most probably be a disaster!

Ah, if yours aren't the make up sort either I wouldn't go there - I've learned my lesson on that one!

What about ringing up the local saddler and arranging a voucher from them? If you do something local it feels a bit less impersonal maybe?

yes, I think that would work, thanks smile

A friend with a 16 year old DSD suggested CKOne for my 14 year old DS.She has been buying for her DSD for a couple of years:

ckone 10.99

That would be nice for either/both girls.

It breaks the budget slightly but I always find that if given a budget I can't help but go a bit over blush

Delivery is £1.95, you might find something nice for yourself on there to mitigate cost and there is 5% on quidco.

Sorry should have clarified that it is a very light scent and might appeal to outdoorsy girls who are not that into makeup etc. Plus it is v good value for (just over) £10 and v little effort to buy

Nail varnish.
Brow gel/brow kit.
Nice shampoo.

You can buy popcorn cheaply enough to put with a cinema voucher or sweets if you want more than just a voucher to wrap. Most teens love a visit to the cinema.

Something or a voucher for accessorise? It was my favourite shop at that age.

stuffitllllama Sun 22-Nov-09 18:48:54

Jewellery if you don't want to do vouchers. You can get silver for under £10 I'm sure.
