Currently a lit up star cos it was about 7 quid in a local shop, but I've decided I'd like to get an angel if I ever see a nice one.
Star.
I don't have photos or human-shaped statues around the house so would not have an angel under this rule trend.
Star and an angel. Angel is sort of sat on a star IYSWIM.

Does that include animals too elfycat?
Star but I'm looking for a nice angel. Our star is a bit rubbish, very pretty but to heavy and always ends up very lopsided

Apparently Debenhams is campaigning on the side of the angels, as they are out-numbered by 9 to 1. here
Neither. Don't currently have a Christmas tree. Sometime over this weekend we will have though.
In England, I had a gorgeous troll like thing made by DDs friends mum. she'd collected she eps wool, spun it, dyed it and made figures out of it.

We've got an angel and h2b suggested replacing her when we get a bigger tree next year. I got a bit ragey.

We have a star, of the 'made by a 5 year old' variety.
I'd like an angel, but I came over all precious one year and announced I wouldn't have an angel unless it was a masculine looking 'Gabriel' kind of thing.
Unfortunately, all of the angels I've come across are of the 'fairy' variety, and my husband got such a laugh out of my quest for the authentic Angel Gabriel, that I can't bring myself to back down and get something in a fur-trimmed ballgown
.
Cliff Richard made from cardboard, complete with a Halo. He's been on the top of my tree every year for ages now!

Love all the alternatives!
ObiWan - our school nativity always has a boy for the angel-in-chief. You should hear the grumbles from the parents of the blonde girls, who felt the part was rightfully theirs.

I have a beautiful angel though it took me years to find her. She has a china face and hand, her wings are made of down feathers and she is really beautiful.

We have a star
Although that's only because when I moved into my first own home I couldn't find an angel, so bought a star and the star has lasted these years
Plus its glittery and I wrap xmas lights around the bottom and poke them into the star so it looks like its glowing
I have a crystal angel with pink furry wings and wind chimes on the tree also... Just not on top. Its just like a bauble

Star - a gold Hama bead one made by myself and DS over the weekend!!
(we only have a tiny tree).
We do have an Eeyore angel that I used to have on the tree at my parent's house too but it would dwarf our own tree so it just sits next to it.

AlohaMama , if I ever find a Gabriel, I will be on here like a flash, with pictures, and links, and bells, and whistles, and everything - even if it's July
.
I have even looked (online) at shops in America and Germany, the land of all things Christmassy. No joy yet. I may have to get rich, and commission something!

A big 5 pointed pagan sparkly pentagram.
