What are we buying our 7-10 (ish) year old girls?

Let's share ideas, I'll start. DD is getting a proper sewing machine, a sewing basket filled with tools (fabric scissors, tape measures, pins, buttons, etc) and fabric, ribbons, patterns, sewing books. I think she'll get a lot of pleasure from this and I'm really pleased with my purchases.....oh, and a much asked for Furby which will hide at the bottom of the stocking so FC will get credit for that one.

Dd1 (8 soon to be 9) a yellow Furby and Sylvanian Families house - possibly Highfields Farm, I still can't decide! My mum has bought her a sewing box and filled it with threads, needles etc..

Dd2 (6) a pink/purple Furby and something else, but I don't know what yet!

dd(9) has decided she likes Barbie (a bit late!) so is getting a horse and carriage, the closet, a couple of dolls and some extra fashions. She is also getting a tablet as her main present. She has no interest in a Furby (thank goodness!)

Sounds great, Sylvanian families have been much loved in this house. Barbies not so much sadly but maybe that is still coming. Furby seems to be on many lists this year, I'm surprised the shops haven't sold out.

I believe that a music doll or plush toy is always loved by children. Also you can think about a drawing kit or various games like Monopoly, Darts, Rummy.

Seems to be a bit of a sewing theme :)

We are hoping to get DD (9) a second-hand keyboard if we can find a good one at the right price (otherwise it may be a joint Christmas/birthday present - 10 in Feb) but am also putting together a sewing kit and fabric plus a David Walliams boxset.

I'm the one that wants the sewing machine.
