Got a leaflet through yesterday.

Never bought anything christmassy from there, our lidl is quite new. Any suggestions of what to buy?

Mini stollen! They are the biz.

mrsnec · 15/11/2012 07:12

Agree with the above and the tree chocs and the Panettone.

SantasComingFace · 15/11/2012 07:16

You know I've never eaten stollen!!

I'll look out for these things!

I am a stollen addict!
Tree chocs what are they?

ClaimedByMe · 15/11/2012 07:20

My dp bought the reindeer steaks and had them for tea last night he loved it, I am not eating poor rudolf! Panettone is good I got my Christmas crackers from lidl last year, can't think what else!

ProfYaffle · 15/11/2012 07:23

I get most of my Xmas stuff in Lidl. cheese, procutto, choccy santas, mulled wine, those chocolate covered ginger bread stars etc etc. The only thing I ever didn't like was the goose we got one year, very stringy. Everything else is ace Smile

SantasComingFace · 15/11/2012 07:23

Ooh, I don't think id fancy Rudolph steaks either.

Do they sell mincemeat? Didn't like the look of the stuff crappy tesco had..

Tree chocs. Chocolate baubles you're supposed to hang on the tree but you eat them all while you're putting the tree up! Also don't know what it is about Lidl this year but ours is selling out of all the offers really quickly they had gammon joints for Xmas and 2? Shiraz which would have kept me very happy over Xmas but they sold out of both in 1 day!

amarylisnightandday · 15/11/2012 08:02

Oooh thanks! I want to go and see! Damn you c section on Monday!

DowagersHump · 15/11/2012 08:26

Also gingerbread house. Their gingerbread house is the best :)

SantasComingFace · 15/11/2012 08:29

2€ Shiraz? I'm guessing you aren't in the uk mrsnec? That would keep DP happy!!

I bought the ikea gingerbread house yesterday!! Sad

Good luck Amary! No not in the UK. In Cyprus but I think Europe is a week ahead with the offers. It's worth checking the website first. At least you should get the vino a tiny bit cheaper than normal. That Shiraz is worth a try even my wine ponce friends and family like it and DH says Lidl Bourbon is nicer than JD! We buy all xmas booze in Lidl. Not seen mincemeat in our Lidl. Considering making it this year definately the cheapest place for ingredients for that though.

Lemonylemon · 15/11/2012 10:29

They also do little bags of gingerbread biscuits. I bought a bag, the kids didn't like the biscuits, so work got them instead. They lasted about 10 minutes.....

MotherfuckingMorrisMan · 15/11/2012 10:31

Oh god buy the lot. Everything they sell.

I have bought a load of stuff from there, stollen, lebkuchen (have you seen the prize of that in M&S - far more expensive than lidl), chocolate santas, gingerbread, brazil nuts, cakes aplently, big chocolate discs covered in hundreds and thousands, mad soups, balsamic vinegar, jams, pickles.

Lidl at Christmas is brilliant (is Aldi as good for the Christmas stuff?)

ImperialStateKnickers · 15/11/2012 10:35

Speckular biscuits, my Dutch Granny used to bring them back with her when she went to visit her sisters, was so happy to find you could get them in Lidl. I've not spelt it properly, but that's the pronunciation.

mummy1986 · 15/11/2012 10:56

Big round chocolate lebkuchen. They are delicious. Also they have lebkuchens in red and blue boxes. They are nice too. We like the ones in the red box. They are coated in dark chocolate.

MsElleTow · 15/11/2012 11:16

Their Christmas puddings are gorgeous. They are about £2.99 and full of nuts and fruit. We buy about 5 and eat them though the year. We already bought ours in September.

ssaw2012 · 15/11/2012 11:23

I cannot find the christmas stuff on their online page. I have checked all their possible online brochures but no luck. Lidl is not close to where we live so we have to check things we want to buy online.
