Bath Toys

Is my ds the only older (5 yrs old) child who still likes to play with toys in the bath?

His toys are getting a bit manky now, and could do with replacing, but I can only find very young toys for the bath.

Anyone seen any bath toys for the slightly older child?

No, my 5yr old dd still likes having toys in the bath! Last Christmas her little brother was given this, which dd also enjoys, although I'd probably have discounted it as too babyish for her.

Otherwise, what about getting a Playmobil boat? They are fab in the bath and you can get all sorts - from pirates to lifeboats and submarines. Just be careful the tiny bits don't go down the plughole! Smile

Bath crayons also a hit in this house!

Ooh that looks good, on the boarder isn't it, but may just tip over into the you can get away with it.

Fantastic idea of playmobil hadn't thought of that. Does it float?

Yes I think lots of it is designed to go in water. We have the family yacht which regularly goes in the bath and floats beautifully. You can even get a motor to go on some of the boats I think. I love the look of the deep sea expedition stuff!

I was just looking at that - the combined package of deep sea diver, shark cage, and exploration submarine looks fab.

Mega Rig Pirate Ship
All the pieces come apart and you can put it back together in whatever combination you like. My 8yr old and his friends all still love it. I've never tried it in the bath, but it is suitable for water.

DD is 7 and loves bath toys, most of the things she plays with are "bath toys" as such, just random toys that can cope with being submerged!

Ooh I like that but I like even more the lair that's on the same page, and that even has suckers for the bath. Thank you for that link.

Any of these? from Hawkins Bazaar. DD had the rubber band boat and loves it. (I know some of the things on that page aren't relevant, but easier than linking to each boat separately!)

Tikkabillajive · 13/10/2010 14:21

I think I'd quite like a go at playing with that Playmobil submarine and shark cage in the bath! Blush

If you shop around you should be able to get the mega rig stuff quite cheap, they seem to bring out a new one each Christmas and the older ones get reduced. DS has 3 sets and they all inter-connect.

KnickKnack · 13/10/2010 14:22

sorry the link for Hawkins didn't work...just type in "boat" in the keyword search

Google 'bath strudels'.

I will be getting some for dd and they may ok your dd's age range.

Whocantakeasunrise · 13/10/2010 18:27

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I tried to google 'bath strudels' and didn't get anything remotely relevant. Would you be able to post a link please, I'm intrigued.

Sorry I meant bath sprudels, my phone corrected the spelling.

Can't do links as I'm on my phone!

Whocantakeasunrise · 13/10/2010 20:56

last christmas my ds had the ones in what look like jumping beans. He was not impressed, very quickly opened, and they were not very clear sponges and so small.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Oh I was going to get the bumper box of beans and sprudels as a stocking filler, may not bother now!
