If you don't have the budget for a cruise but love being on the water, Hoseasons are introducing a new range of luxury boating holidays in 2014 which are perfect for families. Starboard boats have all the usual amenities you'd expect from a boat with a few more you probably wouldn't.
There are 20 Starboard boats available at four English canals and three bases on the Norfolk Broads, with boats sleeping between two and eight people. The boats come with modern galleys, flatscreen TVs, a selection of board games, fluffy towels - some even have wi-fi.
If you've never considered a cruise before, 2014 might be the year to do it with Disney Magic cruises now launching a new route from Venice, allowing you to see to start your holiday in Italy, before embarking on a tour of the Greek islands over nine days.
Plus, all Disney Magic cruises have been freshly revamped for the year, meaning that the plentiful onboard attractions, including waterparks, restaurants, furnishing and are up to date and modern.

Fancy skiing but have always worried about the price? Abercrombie & Kent are putting on a series of 'children ski free' offers in the peak school holiday seasons of half-term and Easter for 2014. In the Dolomites, all children under eight years ski for free whilst 9-12 year olds receive a 50% discount on their lift passes. In Villars, all children aged under nine ski free, whilst in Lech every child under eight years gets to ski for free.
