The London Eye transforms into the Witch Academy for Halloween. The storytelling experience allows children to take a ride on the Eye with a witch teaching them spells and enchantments and unveiling spooky facts about landmarks you can see. 25 October - 1 November

Take a boat trip through Islington Tunnel, which has undergone a creepy transformation, on board one of London's community narrowboats specially decorated for the occasion with a friendly witch amongst the crew. Be prepared for some surprise sights in the darkness of the 193 year old tunnel. 25 October - 26 October

Historic Lauderdale House puts on a magical adventure trail for all little ghosts and ghouls. A great place to explore in fancy dress with fiendish food including ghostly meringues. 29 October - 30 October

Pickled Pepper bookshop is hosting a Halloween party for the launch of spooky new book Witchworld. Dress up in your scariest costume and come join the fun. 30 October

Wellington Country Park has been spookified with shows, decorations, train rides and more. There's three performances of the shows as well as crafts, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating and a scavenger hunt. 25 October - 31 October

Young witches and warlocks are heading down to Priory Farm at Nutfield. There's a Spooky Trail on The Discovery Walk, plus the farm is laying on "The Final Hour" where visitors are invited to take lanterns and torches along for an even spookier trail after dusk. You can also pick up a fresh pumpkin from the farm. 25 October - 2 November


winchester zooHalloween Festival Winchester

Have a close encounter with animals enjoying their pumpkin treats at Marwell Zoo. There's also gruesome stories from a grisly witch and a chance to meet Dracula. Plus, you can create a scary design to have carved into your own pumpkin. 25 October - 2 November


scaresvilleScaresville: The Haunted Village Colchester

Scaresville is a haunted village that mysteriously appears in the grounds of Kentwell Hall in Suffolk every autumn. Take a tour through dark rooms, forests and open farmland. Visit at your peril! (Not suitbable for very young children.) 10 October - 1 November

Help create a haunted woodland walk in the Red House Museum gardens by creating spooky decorations using recycled and natural materials. Then take a walk through the dark, dark wood if you dare! Worried about your little ones going out after dark? Children can trick or treat in a safe environment at The Horsefair's award-winning Halloween event. There's also a pre-teen disco, fairground rides, balloon modelling and the chance to get up close with real life owls. 31 October
