Pressure to apply for a job at work

My supervisor's old job is being advertised at work. They want me to apply because I have covered her role while she was on annual leave and know they would not have to train me. There are red flags. My supervisor has burnt out a few times as the job is the posts of 2 people combined into 1 and she has 20+ years experience and very good at her job but it is still too much for 1 person to do. I would only get £200 extra a month and know I would be ill. There is also a backlog of work which will take months to do and they refuse to get temps in to help. I don't want to leave a good job and get stuck in a toxic one that makes me ill.

Why not raise your concerns and discuss the work load and pay?

Surely you could offer to take on X part of the role and someone else could cover Y?

You can just say no. I think you're looking at this with a lot of knowledge.

It sounds like you already know the answer to this. £200/mo is not worth the likely damage to your health and wellbeing.

Unless getting the promotion would give you the power and authority to fix some of the issues you've mentioned, it seems wise to give it a wide berth.
