Any other self employed transcriptionists for TPro out there? Saw some posts on a DICT8 thread. I have worked for TPro for a while and am getting worried about the small volume of work at the moment, there has always been loads before.

Things are getting worse - really bad today. Even COVID time wasn't this bad.

It's always slow in January and I think they took on a lot of new typists last year.

Ive been trying to find out more info about working for them like rate of pay, do you have to let them know in advance of when you are available for work or can you log on as and when you can? But can’t seem to find much online

Hi, I joined them because of the low volume of work from Dict8 but both are now very quiet indeed. T-pro have confirmed there is no technical problem but they say January is usually slow. I am thinking something else is going on though as Dict8 work dropped through the floor a few months back and now the same is happening with T-pro. We need an NHS/Irish health service mole to tell us where it has all gone. Might be the drs are now emailing out more of their own typing as that was a long-term aim I recall. If so I think there will be a yo yo effect after a short time! Same if they are sending it abroad.

I just think that it is strange that the current situation happened so suddenly over the weekend/yesterday. Normally the quieter time is at the beginning of the month, not the end. If anything, today seems worse than yesterday...the fact that they were unsure of the cause leads me also to suspect that something is not quite right here.

I agree, something not right at all and am even more worried now. If it was because of the "overcrowding crisis" surely they could have found that out from the hospitals yesterday that they were cancelling clinics. Also worrying that they cannot get backlog files. I just feel we are not getting the whole story.

Hi there...do you have an email address to send CV. I can't find one anywhere...I also work for Dict8 and it has gone suspiciously quiet but can't see any harm in applying to T-pro as well, hopefully work will pick up for everyone!

well I do not think there is going to be any work tomorrow after the weekend, as last week, and as it is Bank holiday for them I do not think there will be anything first thing Tuesday either as nothing will be added. Looks like this might be the situation every Monday morning....

Hi. I used to be on this forum with Dict8 but I stopped all work with them as I think they are an. Absolutely lousy company to work for. I work exclusively for Tpro now and I think they are really good to work for. There is masses of work 24/7 ……..until last week. What happened? Just wondering how all the work can dry up so quickly. It seemed to go from 1000s to zero and I too think it is rather strange. They seemed very upfront with the situation but I am not quite buying their explanation. Wondered if there were contract issues
/tendering issues or something. Hope things get back to normal soon.
recognise lots of names on here from two years ago hand open you are al well.

I agree it is really odd - don't think there can be contract issues as they have so many different hospitals and also private consultants and all the work seems to have disappeared not just one or two. The only other explanation really would be if the hospitals are all doing the work in house or if TPro are employing people via a different route?? I am going to spend my enforced day off looking for other work but don't hold out much hope unfortunately.

I don't work for Tpro, but I've looked into doing so and have read through what they offer on their website. I seem to remember them stating they offer unedited speech recognition, which is cheaper, as well as transcriber edited speech recognition. I wonder if more clients are opting for the cheaper, unedited speech recognition package now?

@Whitestar55 - no I don't think so as we get matched with hospitals and that has not changed, and the dictators are the same (allowing for movement of SHOs and registrars) just the volume of work, which leads me to suspect they underestimated the volume of work the people they have recently taken on will get through. If people need the money they will work as much as they can and at the weekends the work is getting done really quickly hence never left, and the same overnight; it is people doing second jobs I think (plus some who will work during the day and evenings etc).

Maybe bank holiday has slowed things. Usually they pay 6/7th of the month I think?

Regarding Tpro invoices and payments does anyone get a remittance advice or confirmation of exactly how many lines they paid you for? Would be useful to have something for the tax man!

@deewu. No you don't get any advice from T Pro but you have a record of what you have been paid in your bank account. All you have to put on the tax form is the total you have been paid by them for the year which you can get from your bank account.
@Lucylizzy123 , no I have not been paid yet, nowadays they usually do pay on the 7th even when there has been a bank holiday so fingers crossed for later today.

Sent my cv to tpro a few weeks ago. They said someone would be in contact if they want to pursue my application further but haven’t heard anything 🤦🏼♀️
im just wondering tho if someone could please tell me what they pay per audio minute. Might not hear from them anyway, but I’m interested to know as I can’t seem to see it anywhere. Thanks

@EmilyJ23 - as part of the contract people are not allowed to discuss rates of pay, however they pay per character/line similar to DICT8
