Starting freelancing...anyone have a handy accountancy spreadsheet for macs?

I'm starting freelancing on Monday. I've run a limited company before and used accountants who sent me a great spreadsheet, but its over-complicated for what I need now, and also was based on Excel which caused endless problems converting to my Mac.

Does anyone have a good template they'd be willing to share? I've googled but nothing interesting has turned up.

I'm thinking I just need income and expenses presumably. Thanks!

Not a lack of interest, Talkin, more a reluctance to part with cash when I have a spreadsheet program already.

Thanks for the advice. I can of course create one myself but just wondered if anyone had a useful one to share.

I second the others. I work with a couple of macs rather than windows computers. Just buy office for mac.

Download OpenOffice For Mac and use their spreadsheet program- not excel but exactly the same. I'm a freelance graphic designer working on a Mac and that's what I use; I set up my own spreadsheet.

Surely you have the Mac version of a blank spreadsheet on your Mac computer. If you've the old accountant's version, and your new business is simple, you can just create your own spreadsheet. Either adapt theirs or create your own from scratch. You just need a sheet for income, another for expenses, columns for invoice date, payment date, customer/supplier name, amount, and several columns to analyse the type of payment/receipt.

The alternatives are paying for accounting software that runs on a Mac or putting some kind of windows simulation program onto your Mac so that you can run windows based programs.

If you are not willing to work with either Excel or open office, you are not suited to the accounts side of self employment : time to hire somebody who is.

I've had a look at VT cash book and that's only for Windows machines.

Not keen to add excel to my
Mac

I know this isn't your question, but you can get Excel for macs.
