Gift ideas for a terminally ill friend *trigger

Hello,

My best friends mum has just been given the awful diagnosis of terminal cancer and been sent home with palliative care.

My friend is devastated. It is just them two at home.

I want to send something to her (the mum), a gift to tell her how much I am thinking of her. Something to cheer her up but I am at a loss.

Any ideas

Afternoon tea is a good idea, a nice treat to enjoy at home.
Bath treats or skin creams/oils
Nice candles
Comfy pillow - seems odd but my Dad was really uncomfortable and comfy pillows really helped
Maybe a hamper with nice treats - all the above and maybe lip balms or nice teas/coffees

It’s a really lovely thing to do OP

@indecisivewoman81 I am thinking of you all, I cant even imagine what it must be like to cope with such a prognosis in these horrendous times ☹️ afternoon tea is a lovely treat. You mentioned that she likes bath products, I quite like sending gifts from Jo Malone (as free delivery and come nicely wrapped!) not sure if where you are you are still able to go and see her? Friends in similar situations have told me how much they have appreciated a short but meaningful card or letter as well?

@Greybutterfly thank you I've just had a look at their website and that's a nice idea plus free delivery! May well do that.

@tortiecat thank you. The mum is very sociable usually and has been down during lockdown and ofcourse has now been given this devastating news. She is very girly and enjoys make up and bath products, music and the garden.

I'm very sorry OP, how awful for your friend and your Mum. You sound so lovely. What is her Mum like / what does she enjoy? What is your budget?

Thank you, I have had a look on their website and they have done nice general ideas but nothing that I think she will like. I will keep looking
