Help please what should I order?

Having a family meal out next Sunday. I have been calorie counting successfully. I am happy to relax and have it as a cheat day but also want to make an informed choice. If I attach the menu could anyone take a guess which may be the lower calorie options? Thank you

For the lowest calorie option, I'd have just a main, and no entree. BUT, I too would slurge a bit from time to time.

Entree- mushrooms seems the lightest option
Main- Grilled hake looks the best. I'd likely have the Sunday roast though!

I think I'd go for whatever you fancy. Eat slowly and you can either enjoy it all or leave the sauce or only eat until you're full.

Sorry, slightly off topic, but where is that menu from? It looks amazing! We often go to north Norfolk and the reference to Brancaster mussels makes me hopeful that it might be within visiting range :)

Ps I agree, catch of the day probably the most 'virtuous' choice, but I agree with PP that a diet can't be joyless if it is to be sustainable - so choose something you will enjoy!

Just order what you fancy. When I lost weight I had a bit if a deal that I wouldn't do anything today that I wasn't prepared to do forever, was I really going to order the grilled fish with no sauce and a glass of water at every family celebration? No, so I would just eat whatever I like at these kind of events!

I would ask about the catch of the day and request that grilled and as a starter, I would have the portobello mushrooms.

Everything else, salad included, looks extremely heavy in sauces.

I'd definitely have whatever you fancy as a treat... I did SW and still lost weight in the weeks I had a cheat day. Make the other 2 meals of that day light and healthy and enjoy yourself!!

It sounds yummy! I'd just have whatever you fancy and get back to calorie counting the next day, but if you want lower calorie I'd guess the fish of the day with vegetables, the fish stew, or the chicken salad, ask for dressing on the side.
