Turning 40 in December! I want to feel happy and healthy by then!

Just that really! I will be 40 in December and would like to take this year to develop longlasting better habits with regard to healthy eating and exercise.

I am 4 stone overweight - various reasons including a bit of binge-eating but am much calmer about that than I used to be - had blood tests for diabetes before Xmas as was concerned and luckily GP said all results good and healthy, so feel I have a chance to ‘put this right’ before I get bigger!

I need accountability and like to support others so would anyone care to join me?

My plan is to cook more from healthy recipes (Hairy Dieters, Joe Wickes); try to stick to one helping at mealtimes and just a piece of fruit/Babybel inbetween; exercise three times a week (no car so walk everywhere and have average step count of around 11,000); and try to be calmer around food. And not buy crap because then I won’t eat it!

Anyone with me?

I think your goal is a great one, to be 40 & fabulous was my aim too; I lost 2 stone of baby weight and felt amazing.

Then I got pregnant again & it took me until ‘I don’t want to be 44 and frumpy’ to motivate me to again lose 2stone of baby weight,

So here I am older and a new lease of life! Kept the weight off and have a whole new wardrobe of colorful clothes.

My advice would be to think of your diet as a long term life style change, set mini goals for each month: like starting couch to 5km, get nails done etc
Good luck
