Sugar Detox - Anyone else feel totally crap?

I'm on day 13 of going cold turkey on a sugar detox. It's plunged me into a complete low mood scenario. The first week was awful - crying fits and no mojo for anything. This week, better as I've been back at work, but still feel like I'm operating under a thick black cloud.
Those of you out there that have gone cold turkey before and won - is this typical and how long did it last for, please. Not nice :(

Thank you Love51. Sarah Wilson in her I Quit Sugar book says not to quit carbs & sugar together as it's too much. I know how bad I felt at weekend. I'm still eating sourdough bread. But the fact you're not comfort eating shows your blood sugar is starting to balance. You're on your way HaloWink

I'm not low carbing, so just food! Potatoes, rice, soup, fruit - I've only quit sugar as in sweets, I've not quit fruit or milk.
I've now also not comfort-ate when previously I would have, so I'm pleased about that. That will definitely stop me putting on weight over the course of a year.

Thank you MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly. Well done for quitting for a year! Have you lost much weight as well? How long was it before you started to feel better? Like you - I'm wondering if it's worth putting myself through this Shock

Thank you - Love51. I haven't felt that hungry - surprisingly - so I'm probably not eating enough. What type of other things are you eating? I'm eating loads of almonds & drinking copious amounts of green tea 😮

Yep, still off it and my migraines have vastly improved, so I'm staying off for the foreseeable! Grin

I'm about as far along as you are. I felt crap the last couple of days as I wasn't eating enough. I cut out sugar and flour, but basically wasn't eating enough other stuff. So, remember to eat and drink!

Thank you! Glad to know it's just not me👍. I do usually get a bit lower than normal at this time of year, but this has been brutal! I'll sort some magnesium supplements out. And with you in the sleep thing. Mine has been all over the place😱.
Are you still off sugar? How long did it take for the good stuff to kick in? But thanks for the tip 👏

I had this last year when I started low carb. I was advised to try magnesium supplements. They seemed to help and with my sleep too - cutting out sugar gave me insomnia Confused I was wondering if it was worth it at the time - you do come out the other side after a few weeks and I felt fine after that.
